The briefing
A Nature study analyzing six Mw≥6 events (2014–2025) on the Iranian Plateau finds that falling Gutenberg–Richter b-values and rising entropy coincide with enhanced ionospheric magnetic anomalies months before rupture. The results support lithosphere–atmosphere–ionosphere coupling and suggest a multi-sensor basis for developing physically grounded earthquake precursors.
